A celebration of community and family, bringing together Saint-Saëns’s classic “Carnival of the Animals” with delightful African animal tales, for a dynamic performance honoring world traditions of story-telling, music, drumming, and dance.

This collaboration combines the Westhuizen Duo, choreographer Heather Mitchell’s Youth Dance Company, and Rootead Community Healing Arts.

Pre-concert activities begin at 2 p.m. and include an instrument petting zoo.

Back by popular demand, we open our season with a Halloween-themed concert titled “It was a dark and stormy night…”. We did a similar concert a couple of years ago, and everyone loved it! So, why not start your Halloween festivities with a concert that is sure to creep it real. We can guarantee it’s gonna be a boo-tiful evening of music and storytelling. A mesmerizing tale of a boy who challenges the awesome might of a black hole, “Icarus at the Edge of Time” is a full-orchestra, multimedia work bringing a powerful modern twist to a classic myth.

This performance is presented in collaboration with the Kalamazoo Air Zoo.

Pre-concert activities begin at 2 p.m. and will include an instrument petting zoo and hands-on activities that are out of this world!

Gilmore Keyboard Festival Presents Kirill Gerstein

2010 Gilmore Artist Kirill Gerstein displays a masterful technique, discerning intelligence, and a musical curiosity that has led him to explore repertoire spanning centuries and styles. A local audience favorite, he has proven to be one of today’s most intriguing and versatile musicians.

His recent performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall have received broad acclaim, and his solo recital this past February at Wigmore Hall drew high praise for this "enviably complete musician" (Classical Source).

We love you to the moon and back! This multimedia spectacular celebrates the 50thanniversary of the 1st moon landing.

On July 20, 1969, the world held its breath and watched in awe as it witnessed the greatest achievement in human history. This concert celebrates that epic event in sound and imagery.

Join us as we pay tribute to Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins, and the thousands of people who supported them, having united us in a brief moment in history. This uplifting concert is designed to remind us of what the human spirit is capable.

This is a free event, and features the winner of the KCB Youth Soloist Competition.

Every December nearly 200 members of the Kalamazoo Children’s Chorus present their annual holiday concert. The choirs will present music of the season to fill you with the holiday spirit.  Box office opens at 2pm and doors open at 2:30 p.m. It’s the perfect time for an alumni reunion weekend, culminating on the stage as KCC alumni join the choir for the final song! Ballet Arts Ensemble Presents "The Princess and the Pea"

To open this year’s season, Ballet Arts Ensemble (BAE) and Artistic Director Cathleen Huling have chosen to retell balletically Hans Christian Andersen’s enchanting story, The Princess and the Pea. 

Ms. Huling has used her creative talents to choreograph a delightful version of this popular fairytale, set to the music of Giuseppe Verdi. Although the storyline follows the traditional tale of a prince in search of his princess, Ms. Huling has included many characters from other Andersen stories and provided a unique twist to the narrative, including a somewhat unusual ending. 

Each performance will be followed by a Princess Tea. One Tea ticket may be bought for each performance ticket purchased. Those who attend the Tea will have the opportunity to meet the dancers and get their autographs. Seating is limited to 100 people for each Tea on a first-come first-served basis.
